Crystal's Web Design

Designing a world for small business.

About Us

Hi, my name is Crystal (Merrill) Grotkier. I've been designing websites for ten years starting when my teacher at the Somerset County Technology Center handed me a book, Microsoft Frontpage 97. He said "Here learn this, you're designing the school webpage." I read that book in one night but I continued to reread it until I understood all the W's to webpage design.

I was completely hooked so I went to college to learn more about designing websites. I learned about the graphics, audio and visual, programming languages, and other aspects of the trade.

During this time, I designed several websites including my own. I designed a website for the Meyersdale Public Library, Logdog Productions which is no longer in business, the intramural sports page for my campus, and several others.

I finally decided to start my own web design business. I want to design great looking websites for small businesses. I keep the prices reasonable by working at home instead of renting office space. At the moment, I am the only employee but if need to, I will hire someone who is able to work at home so I can continue to keep my prices low.

I feel that small businesses are the backbone of economy. Webpages equalize the differences between small businesses and large corporations. If the website is uniform, simple, and great looking, then users will visit, find out services and products, and pass on the information to other people.

Having a website is great. Businesses are able to sell theirselves in a few seconds with lots of information unlike ads on TV or newspapers. Users are also able to search and find your business in seconds instead of looking through a phone book and choosing a business at random.

Give me a call and I'll give you an estimate and other information about getting your business online fast.
